BERNARDO, Maria - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Sault Area Hospital with family by her side at the age of 73. Born May 20, 1938 in Savuto di Cleto, Italy. Daughter of the late Nicola Nicoletta and the late Giuseppina Meraglia. Beloved wife and constant companion of 50 years to Adamo Bernardo. Much loved and cherished mother of Tonino (Melodie), Lina (Paul) and Gisella (Boyd). Cherished and beloved Nanna of Adamo, Sophie, Brenden and Adam. Sister of Antonio Nicoletta (Nella), Cesira Castagnaro (late Mario) of France, Annina Caputo (late Luigi) of Cleto, Italy, late Domineco Nicoletta (late Maria), late Giovanni Nicoletta of Geneva, N.Y. You will always be remembered as a mother that would, without hesitation, have given anything including your own life for your children. We can only hope to emulate your love and beautiful spirit within our own lifetime. Rest peacefully, we shall see you again.
