So sad to hear of about Gus. I had the pleasure of being his roommate during his one and only season in Stratford, Ontario when he played Junior B as a 16 year old. He was a fun loving person with an exceptional sense of humour. We were both from the North (I was from Englehart which is near Kirkland Lake)and had a lot of fun that year while boarding with the Walsh family. My condolences to the Greco family on Gus's passing.

Condolences to the Greco Family The Town of La Scie was shocked and saddened to hear of Gussie's sudden passing. He was a former Coach of the La Scie Jets and it was his great expertise and skill in the field of hockey that put our Town on the map with the Herder win in 1994. Gussie was a very positve and humble man with a smile for everyone. We will always remember him as "a wonderful guy who gave so much, but asked so little in return". RIP Gussie.

Gus was a great teamate and coach. He had a way of making you believe what was good for the team. As a player coach he would never put himself above his teamates, yes he was the coach but as a player he to new he was human and like all could mess up. His most used saying when coaching was " do as I say and not what I do" Our team had lots of respect for him and he was what one would call the perfct leader. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Greco Family, I had the pleasure of spending the 1985-86 hockey season with Gus as our St. John's Caps senior hockey team made a run at the National Allan Cup championship. Gus was an import player with our squad that year. I was the Business Manager back then and remember very well how Gus greeted everyone with a smile and loved being in the company of his teammates. The hockey life suited him well - the comraderie of the dressing room and the excitement of showtime made him happy and at home. Gus's charm and warm personality made him stand out from the crowd. Being an excellent hockey player just made him that much more noticeable. Our quest for the Allan Cup ended in the semi-finals in Brampton that year, but the class and team play Gus and the boys displayed along the way will always stay with me as an indelible memory. Gus was a good soul. I wish we had stayed in touch. He'll be missed. God Bless.
