Peacefully, surrounded by his family on February 11, 2012 at the age of 88. Husband and best friend for 65 years to Bernadette (nee Wilson). Loving father of Michael Gaudette (Mary Anne) and Linda Yourchuk (Bill). Papa Ed to Jody Yourchuk (Dennis Labay), Marnie Yourchuk (Jeff Bissaillion), Jeremy Yourchuk (Krista Parker), Nicole Soliman (Hesham), and Jason Gaudette (Elizabeth). Great grandfather of 8. Predeceased by his siblings Alfred Gaudette, Ethel Fiddler, Anna Warminton (late Lorne), Bernadette Chiarelli (late Pat), Virginia Ramsay (late Gilbert), and Violet Wierzbecki (late Alex). Ed served in the second World War with Lord Strathcona Horse Tank Regiment from 1941-1945. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday February 14 from 11a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 1p.m. with Father Francis Ezenezi officiating. Memorial donations to ARCH or to Tendercare Resident's Council would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Extendicare Tendercare Nursing Home for their special care of Ed. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are requested to assemble at Northwood Funeral Home on Tuesday February 14 at 1 p.m. At the going down of the sun And in the morning We will remember them.
