Obituary of Settimio Mancuso

MANCUSO, Settimio "Sam" (March 26, 1928 - March 6, 2012) - "Ringraziamo il Dio per la concessione su noi del privilegio di essere la vostra moglie, i vostri figli ed i vostri nipoti." "We thank God for bestowing on us the privilege of being your wife, your children and your grandchildren." With profound sadness we announce the passing of Settimio, son of the late Giuseppe and the late Peppina Mancuso of Italy and son-in-law of the late Michele and the late Adelina Giglio of Italy. He shared 54 wonderful years together with his wife and best friend Beatrice. Dear father and hero of Joe (Joanne) and Mike (Caroline) of London and treasured Nonno of Julia, Josie, Matthew and Daniel. Settimio will be fondly remembered by his brothers and sister: Carmen Mancuso (Titina), the late Ottavio Mancuso (Margaret), the late Giovanni Mancuso (the late Filomena) of Italy, the late Francesco Mancuso (the late Teresina) of Italy, the late Luigi Mancuso (the late Menuzza) of Italy, the late Marietta Ferraro (the late Michele) of Italy, the late Salvatore Mancuso (the late Finuzza), the late Antonio Mancuso of Italy and the late Alberto Mancuso (the late Marietta) of Italy and his brothers-in-law the late Antonio Giglio (Elvira) of Italy and Peppino Giglio (friend Tina). He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and all his friends. Family and friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Father Eric Pannike officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. The family acknowledges the loving care provided by Dr. Maione, Dr. Spadafora, the Cancer Clinic staff, the Palliative Care doctors and nurses, the Red Cross staff, the Bayshore Nurses and special thanks to the Clinical Dietitian Judith Proulx.
