Obituary of Brian Coulas

COULAS, Brian - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Brian Joseph Coulas announces his death on Monday March 26th, 2012. Brian passed away in the early hours at the Sault Area Hospital surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. Brian received tremendous strength and comfort from his many friends and family near and far. Brian is survived by his loving wife Nibs (aka Mary), daughter Meredith, son Brent (Rebecca) and precious grandchildren Clara and Elliott. He is remembered by his brothers Danny (Barbara), Jerry (Joan), Paul (Theresa), and Peter (Sally) as well his brothers-in-law Paul (Diane) and Scott (Sally). Brian also has several nieces and nephews that enjoyed spending time with him. Brian was a longtime employee of Algoma Steel, he had an active retirement filled with trips and "projects" that made him happy. There will be a Celebration of Brian's Life at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Saturday March 31st , 2012 from 2-5 pm. A fitting tribute to Brian's Life would be a donation to Myeloma Canada, YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, or the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH). His family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to both the Emergency and Palliative Care department of the SAH to ensure Brian's final hours were filled with dignity and respect. Brian's care from the Oncology Department (Dr. Spadafora) at the SAH and at Princess Margaret Hospital (Dr. Trudel) helped ensure he was able to have a quality of life that created many memories for his family to cherish.
