Obituary of Christine White

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie, Ontario on Friday, June 15, 2012 at the age of 39, after an 11 year struggle with cancer. Beloved wife and best friend of Scott. Cherished daughter of Sam and Rose Valente (nee Gencarelli). Loving sister of Allan Valente (fiancé Meriam Merino) of Toronto. Dear daughter-in-law of Don and Linda White. Sister-in-law of Greg White (Yumi) of Vancouver and Kirk White (Gina) of Orillia. Dear granddaughter of the late Giuseppe and Katerina Gencarelli (nee Liquori) and the late Giuseppe and Elizabeth Valente (nee Lamentea). Granddaughter-in-law of the late Madeleine and Harvey Hutchins. Christine will be sadly missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. In accordance with Christine's wishes, final arrangements have been made with the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine. A memorial mass will be held at Precious Blood Cathedral on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Hamish Currie officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario. Heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Collins and dedicated staff of Hospice Simcoe, to compassionate support workers from "WeCare", to nurses from Bayshore, to Carol O'Kane (Chaplain of the Oncology Palliative Care Unit of Royal Victoria Hospital) and to Rev. Father Francis McDevitt, pastor of St. Mary's Church, Barrie.
