Mary & Family, I was so saddened to hear of Michael's passing. My deepest condolences. There wasn't a time in my life where Michael wasn't part of it, and he touched my heart in a very profound way. From visits with my family, in the halls of Sault College and just a few years ago when I was back in the Sault for a visit. With a big smile, a huge hug and always something wonderful to say, he left an impact and a larger than life impression, and will never be forgotten. I hope you find comfort at this time knowing that he was a very special spirit. He will always be loved.

Mary, Ryan, Derek and family, We can't provide any words that express how sorry I feel for the loss of your loving Husband, Dad, Nono and Best Friend, that haven't already been expressed by others. Truly, the loss of Micheal is far to great. All we can do however is offer a prayer for your comfort, a shoulder to cry on and a friendly ear to listen as you sort out your thoughts and share in your memories and as always a hug whenever you need one. It is said that time will ease your pain, but we know that it will never be easy and each day you will miss Micheal dearly but please remember to never let go of your memories.And know that Micheal loved you all very much! It was a shock to read of "Mr. Micheals'" passing. Even though he never taught me in classes at the college, he was always helping when it came time for me to get my hair done. It was very sad to read the death of Michael on sootoday, in the Obituaries. I am glad I had the opportunity for him to teach me at Sault College in the Hairstyling program, where I graduated in 2000 form the program. He was my favourite teacher, I learned a lot form him. he put up with my wining and frustration everyday, but he would tell me " you can do it Michelle, don't give up, stay confident and don't be so hard on yourself". I did get through it thanks to him. Rest in peace Michael

I am so very sorry to hear of Michael's death. Although in a different department, I worked with Michael at Sault College for about twenty years. Not only was he an unforgettable gentleman with a delightful sense of humour, but also he was an unrelenting advocate for his profession, his program and above all, his students. Dear Mary, Derek, Ryan and families: I can't even remember how long ago it was, that I met Michael...this gentle giant! He was from Capreol, my mom was from Capreol (who was childhood friends with his sister, Addy), I worked with him at Sault College....forever, and I became part of his Saturday morning crew at the shop. He teased me, relentlessly, for being a part of the "old ladies" group, even though I was much younger than anyone there!! One of the funniest things I remember, is when Michael and I sang together at a retirement party (for Nadine). He was Cher and I was Sunny. The laughter of this "gig" went on for weeks, and we became an instant hit, with our peers. What a great time that was. What I will always treasure, is his true compassion for people and his willingness to always listen. And, he NEVER gave up the chance, to give his advice. Good or bad, I always loved hearing what he had to say. I will truly miss you, my friend! Rest in peace...

The Sault has truly lost a special man. Michael was my mother Barbara Suriano's hairdresser and friend.In the early years Michael spent allot of time at our cottage at Leighs Bay and he was always smilling. What a bit of sad and shocking news. My sister discovered "Mr. Michael" and dragged the rest of us along to have our hair cut, and for years that's where we all went, the whole family. Michael was like family. He knew the intimate things in our lives and shared the happy and sad times, the funny stories and the inside jokes. Always the professional and always the gentleman. Man, will he be missed. I know who is styling the angles now.

My Prayers and condolences to Michaels Wife, family and relatives.I was so shocked and saddened by the news today when I seen Michaels name on Sootoday, I was a student of Michaels in 1995.I feel blessed to have had him along with the late Alice Miller as my teachers and to have known him.He truly was a rare gem.I always kept in touch with him over the years, when at the College would drop in for a chat to catch up.He always made you feel special, he went above and beyond,remembering back then in the fall time, it was my 25th wedding anniversary and he knew I was going out of town to see my husband and to celebrate,he made sure I was given the red carpet treatment new hair color new style. make-up application. I felt like a princess,He was more than a teacher he was a great friend,, and was like a second Dad to me..He was a fantastic Teacher, and it showed thru all of his talents he shared with the class. I shared with Michael and Alice about a back pain I had, finally went to the drop in clinic,the last week of school. Was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer I shared my diagnosis with Michael and Alice, was so comforting to have them both as I lost my parents long ago.One month later to the day I had a nephrectomy ( right Kidney Removed)Michael was there right after surgery he came to see me in the hospital . along with a beautiful gift,he was so caring and compassionate at a time in my life i didnt know what the outcome was going to be. I wanted to share these special moments I have of a very special Man. He truly was one in a million,,His journey here on earth was completed, now he will go on to his new eternal home in Heaven. Gone but not forgotten Michael,God needed a special Angel. I am so happy I have the special memories of the time spent with Michael. Have comfort that Michael is now at peace, and one day you will all be reunited..RIP Michael will miss you, Michael passed away on my birthday.

Mr. Michael was my hairdressing teacher back in 2004. I will never forget the first time I met him. He was an amazing person with a big passion for hair. He was so inspiring that I knew I would remember him for the rest of my life. He never let any of his students give up, he knew each and every one of us would grow to be incredible hairstylists, and never took "I can't" for an answer. I hope I made him proud. I'm going to deeply miss him, and so will a lot of people who's lives he touched with his amazing spirit. My prayers and oondolences go out to all his family and friends.
