The family of Joe Bumbacco #9 regret to announce the passing of their beloved NONO in his 97th year. Joe died at the F. J. Davey Home on Monday, July 30, 2012. Joe is predeceased by his cherished wife Emilia of 70 years, his parents Katerina and John, and brothers Mello (Polly) and Ernie (Ilda). He is survived by his sister Rosie (late Doug). Joe #9 was a loving father to John Bumbacco (Jean) and Sylvia Nippers (George). Nono generously spoiled and shared his good nature with his grandchildren Andrea, Darren, Bryan, Charmaine, Amber and Nicole and 7 great grandchildren. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews and the friends that he gathered around him through the years. Joe #9 was a proud foreman at Algoma Steel for over 40 years. He loved his community at St. Jerome Church and the Elks Lodge #341 Drum and Bugle Band. After retiring, he traveled the world with Emilia to wonderful places like Hawaii, Morocco and Italy. Joe's energy was unmatched, biking and jogging well into his eighties. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 11 a.m. until time of celebration of his remarkable life in the Chapel at 1 p.m. with Father Hamish Currie officiating. Private entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Elks Oncology Van, Alzheimer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
