Obituary of Joan Howard

We are very saddened to announce that Joan passed away September 17, 2012, at the Transitional Care Unit at the Plummer Site. Beloved wife of Gerald Howard. Much loved Mom of Lesley Stimson (Adrian Sr.), Jim Garrett, Frank Garrett, and Nora Wessell (Rod). Stepmom to Charlene (Leonard) and Darlene. Grandmother to Kevin Wessell (Katie), Adrian Stimson Jr. (Ian), Jason Stimson (Pam) and Jennifer Garrett. Great Gram to Jeanette and Natalie Wessell. Sister to George Deane (Iris) and Aunt of Nicky (James) and Jennifer (Duncan) all in the U.K. Friend for 65 years to Irene Demerchant (Frayling), Stephen, Gloria , Donna and the late Shirley. Also Dorothy in the U.K. She was a wonderful advocate of all animals and gave a good home to many over the years. At Joan's request there will be no visitation or funeral. A family memorial service will take place at a later date. In memory of Joan donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank all the wonderful ladies at the Plummer Site who took such good care of her and were very understanding to her needs.
