Obituary of Wayne Johnson

Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathy, Lee, Justine and Kyle Rodgers are very sad to announce the passing of their Dad and Papa on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Cherished husband of Elizabeth "Betty". Stepfather to the late Ernie Lawrence (late Dorothy), Marilyn Buscarini (late Mario), Sharon Lawrence, Wayne Lawrence and Gayle Kay. Papa to 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Son of the late Samuel and Margaret Johnson of New Waterford, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Brother of Clarence of Sydney, Nova Scotia and the late Clayton Johnson. Wayne served in the Canadian Armed Forces (Japan and Korea). When released in 1955, he came to the Sault with his army buddy. He got hired at Algoma Steel Corp. where he worked for 36 years in the Machine Shop. Wayne will be missed by his many friends. We will miss his good sense of humour, his passion for sports, and his many stories. He leaves us with happy memories and will be cherished in our hearts forever. Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 12 noon until time of memorial service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. with Reverend Bruce McLeish officiating. Memorial donations to ARCH would be appreciated by the family. Thanks to the staff at SAH, CCAC (Bayshore) and ARCH for their care and compassion.
