Obituary of Leslie Knox
Please share a memory of Leslie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden departure of Leslie Knox (nee Bushen), on Monday the 17th of December 2012. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and mentor to many. She could cut hair or trees, was a very competent electrician, plumber, chef and superb housecleaner. She was also quite adept at carpentry, interior or garden design and hospice care. None of this was ever done with anything but gusto. Leslie, born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, was known as a beautiful, loving, caring and unselfish woman, always thinking of others. She was recognized for her many years of hairdressing, and running her family built business, Tree Men and a Chainsaw. She had a great passion for life and the outdoors, spending precious family time at their family cottage at Nils Bay. After celebrating her 50th birthday, one week ago, Leslie was sent to be with her father Harris Bushen, whom she loved dearly. Our sweet and beautiful Leslie is survived by her loving family, husband Daniel, children Sherry (Rob), Michael, Harrison (Danielle), mother Deanne, mother-in-law Sally Knox, sister Lauri (Peter), Lisa (Rick), Edward (Julianna), grandmother to Taylor, Daniel, Hayden, Christopher and Emma-Jean, sister-in-law to William, Ken (Dorothy), Raymond (Marcia), Ron (Mary), Shirley (Derek), Rick (Elena) and Sherry, favourite aunt to many nieces and nephews and wonderful caregiver to her pet Doberman, Rusty. Leslie was predeceased by her father Harris Bushen, Diane Knox, father-in-law Gerry Knox and Gary. A sign sits at the entrance of Leslie's home, "Live Life to the Fullest," and in the end it's not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years. Leslie Knox always remembered, never forgotten. We love you and cherish every wonderful memory we have of you. Please join us in celebrating the life of Leslie Knox at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 5 p.m. until time of funeral and committal service in the Chapel at 8 p.m. with Mrs. Lana Grawbarger officiating. Memorial donations to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
