Obituary of James Burns
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Surrounded by his loving family, James Burns, a Shepherd of Christ, went to be with his Lord on March 21st, 2013 in his 91st year. Married 68 years to his cherished partner in life, Amelia. Beloved Dad of Nancy and Don Aronson, Barbara Burns, Glennice Snyder and Jeff Snyder. Devoted Grandpa of Jessie and Natalie Snyder. Son of the late Jessie and Robert Burns. Remembered by his brothers late Robert (late Gerry), late Alex, George (late Dolores), Rae (Sharon). Special brother-in-law of late Mary Hanlin (late Rex), late Tonka Stac (late Walter), Jennie Wheatley (late Rudy), Anne Dumanski (late Rudolph). A loss to his many nieces and nephews. We remember an incredible husband and Dad who lived a blessed life woodworking, gardening, fishing and hunting. Dad taught us the importance of a Christian life and his faith was unwavering. His family and his Church were the focus of his life and he displayed the Christian graces which today so richly bless our memories. Dad's parting message to all was to ensure that you build your life on Christ, The Solid Rock. James' family takes this occasion to thank their many friends for the kindness and prayers which have been given during this time of sorrow. Also, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dad's medical professionals who graciously attended to Dad's care. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. with Pastor Benny Kjiersdam officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation, Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle or charity of your choice. Until we meet again Dad, we will all miss and love you always.
Take delight in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
