FRANCIS, Ronald - Peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2013, in his 80th year. Born October 26th, 1932 in Strongfield, Saskatchewan, one of three children born to Russell and Ella (Johnston) Francis. Beloved husband of 54 years for Lorita Zarattini. Dear father of Ron (Mary Lou) and Ricky. Loving grandfather of Katilyn, Michael and Connor. Brother of the late Doreen Clark and the late Irene Chown who are survived by their children Jack and Jim Clark, Gayle Ketola and Larry, David and Danny Chown. He was known for his kind, caring personality, sense of family and his strong work ethic. He worked 40 years in the Rail Mill at Algoma Steel. His free time was spent enjoying his sons' athletic endeavors, helping coach numerous Special Olympic teams, spending time with his grandchildren and enjoying his wife's company (and great cooking). A man of great integrity, with a dry sense of humor, his memory will live on. The family had a private funeral service at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre, officiated by Father Pat Woods. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Ron's life will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Our family would like to thank the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic, Radiation Department, Mindy and the nurses on 300B and the wonderful caring staff at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice. Thanks also to Dr's Ziana, Gieni and Spadafora. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Care Fund.
