Obituary of Dora Provenzano

In her 82nd year, unexpectedly on July 16th, 2013 at the Great Northern Road Retirement Home, our dearly loved Zia Dora left us to join her beloved husband Giacomo (deceased Jan. 21, 2013). Loving aunt of her nieces and nephews, Tony (Tonina), Tullio (Louise), Mary Nowosielski (late Wally), Ada and Frank (Marilyn) Provenzano. Her great nieces and nephews, Sandy Provenzano (Gail), Rosangela Panzarino (Mike), Anthony Provenzano (Sheila), Anna-Lisa Walker (Dave), Liane Nowosielski, Sarah and Kayla Provenzano were the joy of her life. Zia Dora had a very special love for her great-great nieces and nephews, Marnie, Brett (in heaven) Provenzano, Michael and Anthony Panzarino, Michaela and Emma Walker and were her treasured pride. Survived by her sister-in-law Adelina Cassiadoro (late Angelo) and several nieces and nephews in California and Italy, cousin Maria Caputo (Ross) of Sault Ste. Marie and cousins in Toronto and Windsor. Predeceased by her sisters Assunta and Giulia Amantea of Figline Vegliaturo, Italy, brother-in-law Sante Provenzano (late Rosa), sister-in-law Anna Porelli (late Giuseppe) of San Lucido, Italy, cousin Pino Curcione (late Rosa) of Sault Ste. Marie, as well as several nieces and nephews in Italy. The family will receive friends at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral mass to follow at St. Veronica's Church (Douglas Street) at 1 p.m. with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or ARCH would be appreciated by the family. The family is thankful for the services Dora received from the dedicated staff of the Red Cross, Bayshore nurses and Great Northern Retirement Home. We are also very grateful to her medical team, Drs. Spadafora, O'Brien and Buehner, for their care, compassion and professionalism.
