Obituary of Lyle Cowen

Passed away peacefully at ARCH with family by his side on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the age 66. Lyle spent 50 years, 45 of those married, to his best friend and soul mate Marion. Beloved father of Lyle Jr., Lisa Dinsmore (Ron) Ian (Karry). Cherished and loving "Bumpa" to Turner and Abby Cowen, Brooke and Freddie Dinsmore and Maddie and Ethan Cowen. Loved son of Fred (late Dorothy). Best friend and brother of Dan Crosson (Donna), Shirley Hale (Ron), Doug (Grace), John (Maxine) and Heather. Loved by many nieces and nephews. Lyle worked for Ontario Hydro, assisting in the building of the Aubrey Falls dams. In 1969, Lyle began working at Algoma Steel, until the time of his retirement in 2011. Lyle found great joy ice fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed tending to his garden, especially his roses, but nothing compared to the time he took tending to his family. They were his world. A private family funeral was held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758). Memorial donations to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
