Obituary of Rosina Valente

With great sadness we regret to announce the passing of Rose Valente, after a long battle with Leukemia, at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, August 10, 2013 surrounded by her family. Beautiful, beloved wife and best friend of 47 years to Sam. Cherished mother of Allan and the late Christine White (Scott). Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Caterina Gencarelli (nee Liquori). Daughter-in-law of the late Giuseppe and Elizabeth Valente (nee Lamantea). Sister to Nancy Fata (James), late Emily (Marcello Pagliaro), Frank (Mirella), John (Anne) and Ida (Vince Albanese). Sister in law of late Bruno (late Vittoria), the late Tony, Maria Roti (Vito), Caterina Desimone (late Frank), Rose Romano (Nick), Teresa Zaccaria (Michele), and Cosmo (Lina). Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Rose will be missed by her furry friend, Jasper. Rose was always giving of her time and home, hosting many pool parties, pyjama parties and serving endless food and drinks. Her smile lit up a room. She was a constant source of strength in times of difficulty and heartbreak. We will miss her terribly, but take solace knowing she has rejoined her daughter and sister with the Lord. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at Precious Blood Cathedral at 1:00 p.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating.
