On September 14, 2013, at the Sault Area Hospital, Barry Henson passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ after a valiant battle with cancer. Loving husband and best friend for 48 years of Marsha (Scott). Dear father of Vance (Cindy), Elita White (Albert), Jonathan (Adriana) and Beverly Tulloch (Nate). Much loved grandpa to Kyle, Charity Elliott (Dan), Devyn, Kayla, Aryanna, Cameron, Eythan, Josiah, Belen, Evelyn, Joel and Heath. Beloved son of the late Jack and Carol Henson. Brother to Audrey McLeod (Glenn), Ron (Myrna), the late Gerry (Pauline), the late Carolyn Parker (Gary) and Alice Bruce (Phillip). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Barry lived for his family, his work and the game of hockey, which he coached and played for over 48 years, winning the CARHA Cup at the age of 70. He was well known for his contribution to the forest industry in Northern Ontario having spent 50 years in logging and road building and more recently his endeavor into developing a maple syrup operation. He will be greatly missed by many friends, colleagues and employees. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Visiting at Bethany Baptist Church on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Inurnment at Sands Cemetery. Memorial donations to Sault Area Hospital, Multiple Myeloma Foundation or Galilean Bible Camp would be appreciated by the family.
