Obituary of Gerry Gauvin

Please share a memory of Gerry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peacefully, surrounded by his family at ARCH on November 7, 2013 at the age of 85. Husband and best friend of Jeannine for 63 years. Their love for each other was an inspiration to many, especially to children Gaston (Linda Tennant) of Montreal, Gil (deceased), Paulette (Don Kennedy) of the Soo, Denise (Normand Hamel) of Moncton and Jean-Pierre (Denise Ouellet) of Timmins, and to grandchildren Jean-Paul Gauvin, Jamie, Kevin and Dan Kennedy, Stéphane, Chantal, Julie and Rachel Gauvin, Elyse and Deny Hamel and Michel Gauvin. Great-grandfather of Kieran, Parker and Carson. Gerry loved sharing a good meal prepared by Jeannine. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and sing alongs at the condo. He was an avid gardener who grew the best garlic and the plumpest, sweetest raspberries. He started a compost pile before most people knew what compost was. He inspired many of his children and grandchildren to take up gardening. He will be missed by his many friends at St. Joe's Island. Gerry was a retired LCBO store manager and supervisor. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions to ARCH would be appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. E. Beduhn and to all staff and volunteers at ARCH for their excellent care.
