Obituary of Eugenia Szadkowski

Please share a memory of Eugenia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of their beloved mother and grandmother on January 3, 2014 in Sault Ste. Marie at the age of 87. She will be forever in the hearts of her children Zbigniew (Ted), Andzrei (Andy), Barbara Hogan and Anna Manocchio and her grandchildren Mark, Amanda, Andrew, Leah, Matthew and Luke. Missed by great-grandsons Cody and Jesse, daughters-in-law, Mary Ellen and Sharon and sons-in-law, Pete and Dan. Born in Zarow, Poland, Gennie survived the concentration camp and was a survivor throughout her life. She was a fiercely loyal and independent woman who devoted her life to her family and loved the great outdoors. In her spare time, she was an avid reader who enjoyed puzzles, bingo and playing the slot machines. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff at the Davey Home for their loving care for Gennie over the past 5 years. A private family service was held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
