Passed away peacefully at ARCH on Friday, January 17th, 2014 with his family by his side. Waiting for him was his wife Kathleen (nee Welch) predeceased 1991. Father of Carol Casella (Michael), Ingrid Voss (Andre Touchette) and best friend of son Paul Von Voss. Grandfather of David Casella (Maryam), Michael Casella (Sarah), Elena Casella Grilo (Randy), Danielle Johnson (Michael Dawyd) and Katie Johnson (Adam Secondi). Great grandfather of Nadia & Mac Casella and Sawyer Mae Dawyd. Eric was very proud to be a long time member of the Ironworkers Local 786. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sault Area Hospital (Emergency Department and C-3), Dr. Kargbo, Dr. Schamp and the staff & volunteers at ARCH for their patience and compassion. At Eric's request there will be no visitation or service. He will be buried with his wife Kathleen in Greenwood Cemetery this spring. Donations to ARCH would be appreciated by the family. "Auf Wiedersehen - in German means not goodbye, but until we meet again."
