Obituary of Mario DeLuca

DELUCA, Mario "Plug" (1918-2014) - The family of Mario DeLuca announces his peaceful passing on January 25th at the F.J. Davey Home in his 96th year. Beloved husband of Ann Mandatori for 68 years. Loving father of Wayne (Chris), Ken (Irene), Brenda Bumbacco (Pat), and Barb Muio (Don). Dear grandpa Plug of Steve DeLuca (Christina), Scott DeLuca (Shannon), Trista DeLuca and Terry DeLuca, Brad Bumbacco (Kerry), Melissa Bumbacco, Kim Muio-Sirivar (Junior), Michelle Gallagher (Matt) and Jennifer Arbour (Greg). Proud great grandfather of nine. Mario was predeceased by his parents Fiore and Angela, his siblings and their spouses Louie (Lucy), Tony (Mary), Mary Sartoretto (Victor), Terry (Antoinette), Amy Gasparetto (Ugo), and Bruno. Brother-in-law of Margaret Bennett (John), Norma Sorrentino (late John), predeceased by Yolanda and Gino Dovigi, Alex Mandatori and Nick Mandatori. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and special extended family Patricia, Vince and Patrick Buczel. Plug was a lifetime member of the Marconi Society and was inducted into the Sault Ste. Marie Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012. Plug loved to swim, dance, golf and was a talented local baseball and hockey player. We will remember his personal strength and devotion to family and will miss his stories about growing up in the West End. Thank you to all the compassionate caregivers from the F. J. Davey Home and the Sault Area Hospital.
