MAZZUCA, Arturo - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Arturo Mazzuca, peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Mapleview Nursing Home on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the age of 75. Devoted husband of Carmela (Bruni) of 50 years. Cherished father of Louie (Laurie), Maria Battisti (Robert), Danny (Lisa) and Nadia Ferlaino (Matt). Special Nonno of Mitchell, Mackenzie, Matthew, Joshua, Ayla, Mason and baby Ferlaino to be. Loving son of the late Angela and late Luigi Mazzuca. Son-in-Law of the late Assunta and late Raffaele Bruni. Dear brother of late Carmela Chiarello (Bruno) and Gaspare (Pina). Brother- in-law of Frank (Grazia) of Toronto, Domenic (Mary) of Oshawa, Aldo (Mena) of Italy, Anselmo (Nunzia) of Germany, Guiseppe of France, Vanda Palermo (Pasquale) of Oshawa, Gianino (Maria) of France and Lena Principe (Sergio) of Italy. Arturo will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. Arturo enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, bocce and sharing many stories from his younger years. Each year he would spend countless hours in his garden ensuring his cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes would be a bountiful crop. He truly will be missed. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd 705-945-7758) on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Gerard Majella Parish on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Francis Ezenezi officiating. Memorial donations to the Alzhiemer Society or the SAH foundation would be appreciated by the family.
