I was given the blessing of having one of the Mangone family members brought into our lives, with Michelle, who worked with my daughter through CLA, then to meet and work with Jeff and Chris at the hospital. Dear Mangone Family, It was so sad to hear about Jeff. He was a vibrant young man who marked his place in this world. I had the pleasure of teaching Jeff and being his preceptor during his nursing career , as well as working along side of him. We all enjoyed his sense of humour, his caring attitude towards others and heard all about his loving family. We were all very lucky to share a part of his life. You would see Jeff from down the hallways in the hospital with his beautiful smile. He will be missed. My condolences go to your entire family.

I was one of Jeff's nursing professors during his nursing education. I was also his clinical instructor at the hospital. Having him as a student was both a joy and an inspiration. He trusted me to guide and help him achieve his dream of being a nurse. He allowed me to share my passion for the profession, and for every patient. He worked hard, and achieved his goals. I was so very proud of him, because he truly embodied the foundation of nursing, as I see it - he was genuine, kind, gentle and respectful in every interaction with every person, patient, family member & colleague. And his smile, I tell you - could heal a weary soul. In time, I was honored to work side by side with Jeff. He never changed his attitude, demeanor or genuineness after graduation. I was proud to stand side by side with him, no longer student & teacher, but two nurses working towards a common goal of being the best we had to give. Although he always teased, that I would always be his " teacher ", he taught me as well. He taught me to allow myself,to follow my gut & my instincts, & step out of the traditional role of teaching, and be genuinely engaged on a more personal level, know my students, their strengths & their weaknesses, and use that knowledge to guide them as individuals towards success. By knowing them, I could support them and engage with them. It is by far, a more difficult way to teach, because the heart is involved, but it is by far, a happier & more rewarding experience to do so. Jeff, you were a joy, and I will forever be proud to have been a part of your chosen profession! I know you are receiving your wings in heaven. I will miss you.
