of Sault Ste. Marie, died peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the age of 89. Beloved wife and best friend of Harry. Loving mother of Janice and Bruce (Sara). Predeceased by her brother Elmer Hooey (Carol). Proud grandmother of Jennifer (Matthew), Janet (James), Bonnie (James), Dorothy, Anna and Zoe. Great-grandmother of Jaime, Robin, Jacob, Megan, Aidan, Morgan and Holly. Aunt of James, Sharon, Gordon, Robert, Suzanne, Roderick, Morton, Paula, Jane, Charles, Gretchen, Gordon, Kenneth, Grainger, late Brenda and Bonnie. Remembered by friends and family for generosity of spirit, her gentle wisdom, her love of literature and her strong connection to nature. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Extendicare Van Daele for their kindness and loving care. A private ceremony and interment at Greenwood Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, consider offering an act of kindness in memory of Dorothy.
