Leaving a legacy of compassion, kindness, and generosity, Rose Chiappetta passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2014 in her 100th year, surrounded by family. Rose was born on October 13, 1913 in Sault Ste. Marie, ON to Giovanni and Nicoletta Gentile. She was sister to the late Don (late Elsie), late Louis (Mary), and the late Irma Gentile. In 1937, Rose married Sam Chiappetta (predeceased). Married for 57 years, Rose and Sam raised their 5 dear children, the late Ralph (Elaine), John (Lucille), Michael (Fran), Elizabeth (Paul) Sanchioni, and Kathryn (Vince) Orlando. Rose faithfully cared for her family. Of all her accomplishments, Rose's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and to make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her generous heart filled her home with love, food, family and friends. She leaves all her children and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews with the knowledge that they were truly loved. Throughout her life, Rose maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who right until the end, were witness to her gentle spirit and kind heart. Family and friends are invited to call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the F. J. Davey Home would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Driftwood Beach, Third Floor at the F.J. Davey Home for their care, respect, love and support.
