SPURR, Douglas - Passed away peacefully at the Extendicare Mapleview Nursing Home on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Wyatt). Dear father of Jimmy (Sharon), Richard (Kathleen and the late Shirley), David (Wendy), Allan (Debbie) and Linda Cope (James). Cherished grandfather of Dougie, Sherri, Ricki, Christine, Laura, Melissa, Steven, Sarah, Erin, Brianne, Amanda, Benjamin, Dusty, Pebble, Shawn, Charles, Allan and Tara. Great grandfather of Brianna, Katie, late Arianna, Adam, Elise, Collette, Madeleine, Jaren, Liam, Aden, Emily, Chase, Charlie, Corbin, Lincoln, Duncan, James, Marion, Mckenzie, Kyleigh and Jordan. Survived by his brother Ernie and predeceased by Lawrence, Edith, Maud, Albert, Frank, Irene, Evelyn, Elise, Teddy and Freddy. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Douglas was a proud decorated World War II Veteran from 1943 to 1946. He enjoyed painting, cooking and could always be found strolling through Canadian Tire which always ended at the Casino. Friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road) on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Marty Fremlin officiating.
