Obituary of Pietro Cornacchio

With thanks for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Pietro (Peter) Cornacchio Sr. on October 1, 2014 after a brief illness with his family at his side. He has gone to be with his parents, the late Antonio and late Louise (nee Merola) of Italy, and his wife, the late Rita (nee Vaillancourt) Cornacchio, and their daughters Lynn Cornacchio and Alice (Cornacchio) Mullins. He is survived by his children Angela, Peter Jr. (Tracy), Lou-Ann Cornacchio (Bryan Rayner), Kim Jarvie (Tony), Tony (Andrea) and Allan. Grandpa Cornacchio/Nonno will be missed by grandchildren; Corry Cornacchio-Venn (late Danny), Tiffany, Angelica Cornacchio-Maclennan (Luke), Jess Borysiewicz, Joel Borysiewicz (Jillian), Jorden Jarvie (Chelsie) and Elise Jarvie. Loved by his great grandchildren Heather Bedell, late Ryker Venn, Camille and Chase Venn, Riley Borysiewicz and soon-to-arrive baby Cole Jarvie and baby Borysiewicz. He was a brother to the late Emilio (late Yula) Cornacchio ,late Mini (late Vito) Offidani, late Gino (late Jean), Cornacchio, late Alfred (late Margaret) Cornacchio, Elvira (late Gino) DiPasquale and late Flora (late Tony) Totteff. Uncle and Great Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friend may call at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Center (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral and committal service in the Chapel on Monday October 6, 2014 at 10 a.m. Memorial donations made to the SAH -Critical Care fund or the Palliative Care Fund would be appreciated by the family. Peter was a long-time member of the Marconi Club. He enjoyed the skill and social aspect of cards, and knew "when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em". He was a proud member of our Community and will be missed by all who knew him. "Somewhere in the darkness, the Gambler he broke even, and in his final hours he was ready for his next game."
