Peacefully, at Extendicare Maple View Nursing Home with his family. Devoted and beloved husband of the late Evelyn. Dear father of Susan Eljuga (Mirko), Brenda Maki (Bob), Jim (Lorie), Joe (Heather), Jerry (Maria), Joanne and family. Loving Papa of Corey (Kari), Neil (Arian), Anne, late Joey, Whitney (Sean), Rebecca (Gabe), Melissa and Rania. Great Papa of Joseph, Madalynne, Nolan, Rory, Dylan and Eva. Son of the late Assunta and James Mancuso. Son-in-law of the late Vincent and Mary Orlando. Survived by his sisters Betty Mertens, Mary Wishon, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Phyllis Mancuso, Don Burt, Rita D'Agostini and Joe Orlando (Anne). Predeceased by Albert, Doreen Burt, Joe Mertens, Bill Wishon, Agatha Caruso (Mike), Gilda Drago (Guy), Rose Deluco (Charlie), Dora Greco (Frank), Eda Aiello (Tony), Amedeo Orlando (Vi), Ledo D'Agostini and Vera Fabbro (Ab). Joe will be fondly remembered by his cousins, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Joe will also be remembered for his kindness, for his involvement in the Farmer's Market, his dedicated service at the City Board of Works and past president of CUPE. Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday evening from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ignatius Xavier officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to Light the Cross, Alzheimer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Special thank you to the staff on Tunnel Lake at Extendicare Maple View for their compassionate care and Canadian Veterans for their ongoing support.
