Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Predeceased by his loving wife Carmel (nee Pettalia). Dearly loved father of Alf (Wendy), Tom (Marcy) of Windsor and Sue (Perry Laidlaw) of Windsor. Cherished grandfather of Mandi Brandt (Jamie), Lori Lariviere, Jodi Pold (Steve) and Julie Porter (Paul), Brian Porter (Krista), Erin Porter (Thiago), David (Eliza) and Mark Porter, Lou Naccarato (Tanya), Peter Naccarato (Leslie), Jason Laidlaw (Ashley), Sheena and Chelsea Laidlaw. Great grandfather of 15. Brother of Lois Tremblay. Brother-in-law of Cathy Porter, Liz Pettalia (late Frank), Ann Bednarz (late Ed), Julie Barlow (late Dave) of Kitchener and Peter Pettalia (late Mary). Predeceased by his brothers Les Porter and Howard Porter, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rose Dyni (John), Mary Figliomeni, Sosto Pettalia (Marie), Sam Pettalia (Rose) and Joe Pettalia (Bea). Dear friend of Rita Maione and family. Joe will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Parish on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Boguslaw Jaroszek officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to ARCH or SAH Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
