Obituary of Nicola Desando

Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the age of 80. Dearly loved husband of Rosina for 54 years. Cherished father of Connie Lento (David), Giulio Desando and Maria Mathewson (Andrew). Treasured Nono of Patrick, Jocelyn (Gene) and Emily Lento. Nicolas, Alexander and Mathieu Desando, Alexandra and Vanessa Mathewson. Brother of Giuseppe Desando (Immaculata), Connie Michienzi (Giuseppe), Joanne Sinanni (Ross) and Geno Desando (Leeanne). Brother-in-law of Maria Chindamo (late John), John Gamba (Yolande), Grazia Ramondi (Luigi), Carmen Gamba (Maria) and Lina Policicchio (Tony). Nicola will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mr. Len Monico officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to SAH Long Term Care Fund would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to Dr. Kargbo, Dr. Lee and Brenda Paat for the incredible care and compassion during his 7 month hospital stay. All the Angel nurses and personal support workers who accompanied "Nicky" on his journey. Our family is forever grateful.
