Obituary of Luigi Miceli

MICELI, Luigi (July 6, 1935 - March 22, 2015) - We were truly blessed to call you husband and daddy. Son of the late Vincenzo and Teresina (nee Scornaienchi) Miceli. Luigi left his home in Paterno, Calabro at the age of 18 years old to come to Canada to build a better life. Here he met the love of his life, his wife of 54 years Maria Miceli (nee Mancuso). Together they raised five children Tina Felice (Carmine), Rita Miceli (Mark Conway), Lisa Aceti (Sam), Frank Miceli (Donna) and Sandra Miceli (Donny Gauvreau). He worked hard to provide for his family and always told his kids that an education was important. He always called us his "baby" and he will forever be our "daddy". He was blessed with 7 grandchildren whom he cherished and always brought joy to his face whenever they called him "Nonno". He will be missed by Tiana, Sabrina and Frank Felice, Jessica, Sammy, Marc and Matthew Aceti. Luigi is survived by his brother Salvatore Miceli (Immacolata), sister Ida Farno (late Ottorino), predeceased by his brother Vittorio (Giuseppina), Giovanni (Maria) and Francesco, sisters Marietta Benincasa (Giuseppe), Gilda Gallo (Giovanni), Antonietta Carpino (Michelle), and several others in infancy. Luigi was predeceased by his in-laws Salvatore and Finuzza Mancuso. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Rita Palumbo (late Frank) and brother-in-law Joe Mancuso. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Veronica's Church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
