Obituary of Anna Gimpel

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2015, in her home surrounded by her husband and four children. Beloved wife of John Gimpel for 64 years. Loving mother of Monika Hilton (Glen) of Sault Ste. Marie, Maria Young (Gregory) of Auburn, Anna Gimpel Morrison (Erwin Goertz) of Sault Ste. Marie and John Gimpel Jr. (Namita) of Barrie. Cherished grandmother of Denis Hilton (Tracey) of Wyoming, Stacey Hilton (Pat) of Barrie, Andrew Hilton (Lindsay) of Sydenham, Corey Young (Holly) Janna Mazuryk of Waterloo, Kurtis Morrison of Calgary, Kyla Morrison (Adam) of Sault Ste. Marie, Dana Morrison of Toronto, Jerika and Emily Gimpel of Alliston. Great grandmother and loving Oma to Erron and Avery Hilton, Anna and Maya Hilton, Lucas, Brooklyn and Parker Young, Gavin and Kaitlyn Mazuryk. Predeceased by her parents Nickolaus and Eva (nee Schuy) Gass. Sister of Joe Gass (Hollis) of Sault Ste. Marie, Paul Gass (Elfi) of Austria, late Jacob Gass (Maria) of Sault Ste. Marie, late Toni Gass (late Resi) and late Maria Pfeiffer (late Cristof). Aunt of David Gass of Sault Ste. Marie and many nieces and nephews in Europe. Anna was a woman who loved the simple things in life. She spent endless hours nurturing her garden and flowers. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed teaching her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to bake and make homemade noodles. Anna will be sadly missed by her family and by her life-long friends, Anna Ruscio and Velma Bruni. A private family celebration was held. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Many thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the Sault Area Hospital who took good care of Anna during this trying time.
