Obituary of Velma Podolski

Please share a memory of Velma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the age of 86. Daughter of the late Foster and Martha Elliott (Peever). Beloved wife of the late Nicholas "Nellie". Loving mother of Lynne Pyette (Tim), Nancy Bertoni (Lui) and Garry Podolski (Leanna). Special grandmother of Ryan Pyette (Rosalynn), Miranda Pyette (Vince), Paul Bertoni (Trish), Amy Bertoni (Peter), Adam and Lauren Podolski. Vel adored her great grandchildren William and Lily and looked forward to their visits. Vel was born in Tomstown, Ontario, one of five children, her siblings Iris, Adele, Neil and Beryl will miss her. Vel and her sister Iris always debated over who was more Scottish and who was more Irish. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Our mom was a lover of life. She loved her kids, grandkids and great grand babies with everything in her. She loved to cook, read, garden and was everyone's number one fan at all of our sporting events. Out of respect for Mom's wishes there will be a private family celebration of her life. Donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall soft upon your fields…and until we meet again may God hold you in the hollow of his hand."
