Dear Kirsti. I so enjoyed talking with Wayne when he came into Town Milk and Variety in Shelburne where I worked. I remember him telling me about the time he left the lottery ticket with the winning numbers on it and you thought it was a ticket and when you checked it with the news paper, you though you had hit the jack pot. Wayne felt so bad about that. He was a great man, and the world was a better place with him in it. So sorry for you great loss..Sharon O'Gorman

Dear Kirsti, My very deepest sympathy to you and your family on the passing of Wayne. As young cousins we spent a lot of time together, along with our parents and grandparents, going back and forth for family visits. As the years went by, we all went off in different directions, but we were all so happy to see him again in Halifax when he came for visit in'96. You made a wonderful life for him and l'm sure your memories together will be everlasting. Fondly remembering Wayne and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Judy Watson, Saint John NB.

Kirsti, family and friends: I was very saddened to hear that my friend and colleague Whipper passed away. I took some comfort reading that he passed peacefully and at home. The Whipper that I knew and worked with for many years was a peaceful man who in my view and my experience was not capable of ill will or harm. He was a gentleman. He was always humorous and witty. I learned a great deal from Whip. It was Whip who gave me my nickname. Every shift I worked with him back in the day (when there were few rules and ATC was mostly egos) were immensely entertaining. Each shift back then despite the unforeseeable workload was kept interesting and entertaining by characters like the Whipper. The harder we worked the funnier we were. We were members of the Animal Crew……………we were the best! Those evenings back then would not end with a particular shift. There was the mandatory debrief at the local pub where we would re-live the evenings events using 20 20 hindsight and a license to change the facts strictly for entertainment purposes. How entertaining were these pub debriefs? So much so that regularly the day shift would remain at the pub and wait for the evening shift, so as to be able to accurately discuss the entire day’s events in full perspective. Whipper rarely missed a debrief! I think I would give almost anything for another shift with the animal crew…….Bye Whipper! Your friend, the maskman
