Obituary of Alida Deryke

- Peacefully entered into rest at the F.J. Davey Home in Sault Ste. Marie, on Friday, October 2, 2015, in her 93rd year. Alida was born and raised in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In her thirties she left her beloved Holland and moved to Sault Ste. Marie with her young family. She is survived by her children Jackie, Willem (Jane), Rene and Sylvia, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews in the Netherlands. Alida loved to travel, especially throughout Europe, and enjoyed her many visits to her homeland to visit family. She was also an avid knitter and shared her many wonderful handmade gifts for all to treasure. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758). The family would like to thank the staff at the March of Dimes, 55 Chapple Street, the nursing and support staff at the Level 1, Driftwood Nursing Station, F.J. Davey Home for their wonderful care and consideration.
