Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Saturday, October 3, 2015 in his 92nd year. Just shy of his 70th Wedding Anniversary to his devoted wife Margaret (nee Wheeler). Beloved father of John (Anne), Christine Snuggerud (LeRoy), Karen Boston (Ross), Kim McConnell (late John), Eric (Sharon) and Jamie (Marianne). Cherished Grampa to Tracey Manley (Greg), Angela Mallard (Greg), Cheryl Marlatt (Kevin), Stefanie Snuggerud, Chad Snuggerud (Marcie), late Jesse Boston, Karie and C.J. McConnell, Kyle, Andrew, Joshua and Bryce Vanderburg. Great Grandad to 10 and great great grandad to 1. Ernie served in Italy during the Second World War as a part of the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards in the Armoured Division as a tank gunner. At Ernie's request, cremation and a private family service has taken place. His final place of resting will be at Greenwood Cemetery Veteran's Plot. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25. Thank you to CCAC, Care Partners, WeCare, BayShore, Premier Homecare Services and Veteran's Affairs. A big hug to Faye, Lee, Cheryl, Dr. Bedhun and Dr. Buehner for their excellent care of Ernie. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.
