Obituary of Eileen Sharp

Ascended to heaven peacefully in her sleep at SAH on Monday Nov 2, 2015 at the age of 86. Born Aug 29, 1929, she lived a wonderful life with Cliff, her husband of 65 years and her children; Linda (Conrad), Dan (Marabeth), J.D. (Janice). Proud Nana of Laura Stone (Mike), Michael Sharp (Hilary), Samantha Marasco, Devan Marasco (Ryley), Rae Sharp and Great Nana to Brea Marasco. Daughter of the late Irwin and Leah Siegman. Sister of Leo (Anne), Roy (Dolores), late Erma Marshall (Don) and late Bill (Audrey). Sister in law of Alice Elwgren, late Lloyd Sharp, late Marjorie Killoran, late Minerva Laroue and late Geraldine Madill (O'Neil). Eileen grew up on Elmwood Avenue and was quite a tomboy. She graduated Tech and worked at Cochrane Hardware until she married in 1950. At 26, she and Cliff bought the "HAV-A-REST" Lodge at Harmony Beach where they ran a busy restaurant, stables, store, gas bar and cabins. She then devoted herself to her 3 children and was her grandchildren's greatest fan in the stands for every game. She also found time for quilting, sewing, needlepoint and knitting which she continued into her later years. Our best memories are of her joy at winning whatever game the family was playing. Her competitive spirit and tenacity will be remembered by those she golfed and played bridge with, here and in Florida. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Donations to the church her family helped start, Zion Lutheran, would be a tribute to her legacy.
