IRVINE, Alexander "Alex"- Peacefully passed away at A.R.C.H on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the age of 70. The angels came and guided him to his final resting place after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. RIP dear, Dot (Dorothy). Alex will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children, Lisa Lafreniere (Norm) of Wawa, Scott Irvine (Kathleen), and Susan Rice (Bentley) of Digby, Nova Scotia. Cherished Grandpa of Nicolas and Mathew Lafreniere, Liam, Dane and Anne Margaret Irvine, and Caitlyn and Alexis Rice. Youngest son of the late Verna (Catling, Irvine, Ryckman), James Irvine and Robert Ryckman. Dear brother of Arlene Bussineau (Bud), Eva Archibald (late Gordon), Leona Wilson (late Wayne), late William (Doris), and late Jim (Norma). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Alex played the drums for over 35 years and loved driving highway coach for A.J. Bus Lines, he looked forward to the day he could do it again and never gave up hope. Heaven has a new bus driver. Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 12 noon with Reverend Patrick McMannus officiating. Graveside interment to follow. Memorial donations to A.R.C.H. or The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 band. Thank you to Dr. Fera, Dr. Felix, Dr. Ben Musa, Dr. Carol Anne Molton of Toronto General, Dr. Mary Wilson (for her extraordinary care and compassion), SAH Cancer Clinic, and Home Care nurses Donna Rae and Precious, we couldn't have asked for better care. Special thank you to family and friends for the love and support through this difficult time. It was appreciated and will never be forgotten.
