Obituary of Mirko Eljuga

ELJUGA, Mirko Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the age of 73. Loving, respectful husband to Susan (Mancuso) for 34 years. Beloved son of the late Ana and Vid Eljuga. Dearly loved son-in-law of the late Joe and Evelyn Mancuso. Dear brother of Slobodan (Mila) of Cambridge, Ont., and Kreso (Ljuba) of Bosnia i Hercegovina. Cherished brother-in-law of Brenda and Bob, Jim and Lorie, Joey and Heather, Jerry and Maria. Fun loving and caring uncle of Slobodan (Maria), Mirko (Davorka), Darko (Lydia) and Milena all of Bosnia i Hercegovina, Susan and Joe and Steven and Andrea, Corey and Kari, Neil and Arian, Anne, Whitney and Sean, Rebecca and Gabe, Rania and Adel and the late Joey Mancuso. He always enjoyed spending time with his great nieces and nephews. Much loved by Godchildren Marisa DeRubeis and Mara Saric. Mirko was known for his joyful and generous spirit, loved and appreciated not only by his many relatives and friends but also anyone who came into his life. He respected and truly enjoyed young and old alike. Mirko dedicated much of his life in Sault Ste. Marie to the many activities of the Croatian Community, Past President of the Croatian Hall, Croatian Church Council and Manager of the Croatia Soccer Team. He so very loved his furry friend Buddy. Special thank you to the nursing staff of 300B and the ICU staf , our appreciation to Dr. Bignall for his patience and respect. Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Monday January 18, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prayers are at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of the Highway Church on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Veselko Kvesic officiating.
