Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the age of 98. Beloved husband of the late Laura. Loving father of Robert (Sally) and Allan. Brother of Anita Strickland (Richard), the late Ervi (Patricia) and the late Helen Laureson (Einer). Brother-in-law of the late Laurie Quist. Uncle of David, Ruth and Steven Strickland, Linda Quist Diotte (Robert), Dennis Lahde, Judy Rhanovich and Linda Mercer (Ed). Great uncle to Jeremy, Matthew and Kyle. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Raappana officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Rest Home or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
