A quiet and gentle man, loved by many and respected by all.
CRONIN, Larry Arthur (1945-2016) - In the quiet early morning hours of Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Extendicare Mapleview and surrounded by his family, Larry bravely took his last breath and completed this life at the age of 70. Forever loved by his wife and best friend Sharon (nee Nolan) and daughters Kelly (John Cerasuolo) and Kristie (Keith Parr). Proud Papa of Victoria Kovacs, Chase and Chance Cerasuolo. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Irene Cronin. The eldest brother of Brian (Debbie Amaroso), Jim (Rhonda), and Carol (Randy Johnson). Son-in-law of the late Smokey and Bea Nolan. Brother-in-law of Janice Nolan. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews Marc, Carrie, Rachel, Brent, Darcy, Nicole, Joel and James, and many cousins. Larry will be especially missed by his former employees and associates at Kinecor (formerly Hugh J. O'Neill Co. Ltd.), the O'Neill family, and the countless customers, vendors, and colleagues who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. Larry was the Sault Ste. Marie Branch Manager and, after a 47-year career with the company, was the longest serving employee in the organization's history when he retired in 2011. Larry loved playing guitar with his brothers and bandmates on stage and around campfires. He spent a good portion of his childhood growing up in Goulais River and loved visiting Goulais whenever he could. He enjoyed numerous summers camping with his family in Hilton Beach. He also enjoyed trips near and far, including numerous summer family road trips, fishing trips with his brothers, trips to Las Vegas, cruise vacations and, in his earlier years, riding his motorcycle. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wedenesday, February 24, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1p.m. Donations to Alzheimer Society or ARCH (Algoma Residential Community Hospice) or would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank Dr. Rose Gieni, Care Partners (especially Aimée), the VON Day Away Program and Extendicare Mapleview - Echo Bay Nursing Staff.
