Obituary of Joseph Troke

It is with great sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of Joseph Walter Troke on February 26, 2016 at his home in Sault Ste. Marie with his loving and caring wife at his side. Born in Haileybury, Ontario in 1939, he moved with his family to the Swastika/Kirkland Lake Area at an early age and remained there until 2013, when he and Lynn moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario to be closer to family. Walter worked at Northern Telephone and Bell Canada for 40 years, taking early retirement at age 58. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years Lynn (nee Ohrling), his children Gary of Spruce Grove, Alta. And Sheri Wood (George), his grandsons Caleb and Dae Wood all of Sault Ste. Marie, his sister Marie Curtis (Bernie) of West Kelowna, BC., and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Lawrence (1992) and Bella (2008). As per Walter's request, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held in the spring. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the numerous friends, neighbours, medical staff and associations who assisted in Walter's care for the last number of years. We will always be grateful to all of you.
