It is with heavy hearts we sadly announce the passing of Arminda Dias Baia at the Sault Area Hospital on April 14, 2016, peacefully in the arms of our Lord surrounded by her loving family. Arminda was born in Portugal to the late Alivio and Balbina Dias. She had a strong unwavering faith in God, gave herself unconditionally and touched the lives of many through prayer, food or that ever loving helping hand. Family meant the world to Arminda. She shared a beautiful marriage of 63 years with her beloved husband José. Loving and caring mother to Richard, late Armando, Liz (Doug), Darlene (Andy) and Wanda (David). Avó will be missed dearly by her grandchildren, Dana, Michael, Olivia, Wyatt, Katelyn, Brianna and Mikaela and great-grandson Lincoln. Dear sister of Americo (Maria), late Casimira (late Manuel) and late Maria (late Antonio). Daughter -in- law of the late Teresa and Guilhermino Baia. Loving sister-in- law of Manuel (Maria), late Domingos (Luisa), late Bento, late Americo (Maria), late Rosa (Augusto) and late Maria. She was a respected and loving Tia to many nieces and nephews living in Canada, Portugal, Brazil, England and France. Friends and family may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Gregory's Church on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadothil. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the March of Dimes or spreading Arminda's goodwill by performing an Act of Kindness to someone in need would be greatly appreciated. Vai com Deus Mãe.
