Very sorry to hear of John's passing. I remember John from the days back in the Centre. He always had a mischievous glint in his eye and an ever ready chuckle. John will be missed by all those who had the good fortune of knowing him.

Hi Corrine, it seems like an era has passed with John's departure. Not sure if you remember me. I was John's UOS during his tenure in Sault Ste Marie before doing a short stint as Acting Manager, and then Manager at Sudbury, Buttonville and Oshawa. John set the management style that I followed for almost 12 years. His style was one of a calm, measured approach to deal with both minor as well as very serious issues. He was a lot of fun to work with, and full of stories about events from his career. But there was always something to learn from those stories. Last time I saw him was when I rode my bike to Sault Ste Marie and stopped by to see him happily fishing off the dock. And, more recently, a telephone call to the cottage, only to find I was speaking to the same loveable John that I worked for in the 80's. I am sure his pressence will be missed by many.
