Obituary of Janette Hellberg

Please share a memory of Janette to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On July 8th, 1919, Heaven opened their doors and sent us a wonderful mother. On July 11, 2016, they opened Heaven's doors again and took her home. The family of Jean Hellberg sadly announce her passing on Monday at the FJ Davey Home. Jean was born to Levi and Lillian Fex in Dean Lake, and was the second of nine children. She lived and worked on their family farm near Hearst until her marriage to Magnus Hellberg in 1938. They were blessed with four children, who will forever miss her. Russ (Cathie) of BC, Linda (John) of Sudbury, Barb (Ray) of Sault Ste. Marie and Karen (Dan) of Nebraska. "Mom of the heart" to Jack Juliette (Orvella) of Sault Ste. Marie. She was predeceased by her husband Magnus in 1973. Exceptional and loving grandmother to eleven: Kristine (Simon) of BC, Karl (Helena) of Australia, Dan (Susie) of Sudbury, Donna (Pete) of Toronto, Debbie (Richard) of Calgary, Ryan (Jen) of Sault Ste. Marie, Rob of China, Andrew of Guelph, Renee (Jason) of Nebraska, Andi (Josh) of Nebraska and Dan Jr (Tara) of Nebraska. Special Gram to Eric (Beth) of Sault Ste. Marie and Nate (Heather) of BC. Great grandmother to 20 and great great grandmother to 2. She is survived by 3 of her siblings: Rita (Bill, deceased), Ellen (Hoken), Hazel (Ted) and predeceased by Iva, Russ, Len, Bill and Glen. During her 97 years on earth, Mom was a homemaker, waitress, sold newspapers and was employed by UIC. In her early years, she hunted, cross country skied, curled, did sewing, knitting, crocheting, macramé, was an avid garage-saler, genealogist, loved driving, was an exceptional gardener, taught Sunday school and was very active in church. Mom always loved to walk and enjoyed many evening walks on the board walk in Sault Ste. Marie. Mom accepted Christ into her life Nov. 29,1952 and her life was forever changed. She lived by faith, longed for things promised, hoping and waiting for her heavenly home. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Mom will be buried next to her Mom and Dad at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Mom's favourite charities were Teen Challenge and the Pregnancy Center. If you so wish, donations in her memory, may be made to them or to the FJ Davey Home. Our family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the staff at Pathways and to the staff on Birch 3, present and past, at the Davey Home. You are too numerous to mention, and your acts of kindness too many to count. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To all of the gracious and generous activity staff, your kindness will always be remembered. Thanks to the Physio staff, especially KJ and Brittany, for their continuous and attentive care. Our Mom is home in Heaven, now joining her husband Magnus and many friends in faith, which was her prayer every night.
