Obituary of Patricia O'Flanagan

O'FLANAGAN, Pat It is with profound sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Pat O'Flanagan at ARCH Hospice on Sunday, July 31, in the company of her loving family. Pat departed this beautiful world with grace, peace and dignity. Since her arrival in Sault Ste Marie in 2005, Pat worked as a career counselor, was a member of the Baha'i community and was strongly associated with Algoma University. Her friends in the Sault came to know and love her generous spirit, her unfailing enthusiasm, gentle wit and supportive kindness. She graduated (Cum Laude), from the CESD program at Algoma University in 2010, and is remembered fondly by her many colleagues there as well. Pat was a person of uncommon kindness, integrity, honesty and humour. She made profound connections with people, made many, many friends, and touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by Tom, her beloved husband of forty-six years. Pat leaves sons Sean (Nancy) and Tim (Tina), grandchildren Seamus, Sydney, Lexi, Keenan and Connor, and a large and loving extended family throughout the country. A funeral and memorial will be held at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Monday, August 8, at 1:00 PM, with internment at Old Greenwood Cemetery and a social gathering to follow. The family intends that the event will be a joyful celebration of a life well lived by a person of extraordinary quality. Any donations or volunteer service should be directed to contributing to the operation of ARCH Hospice, a place of calm, compassion and care.
