Obituary of Felice Guzzo
Please share a memory of Felice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Phil, at the Sault Area Hospital, on August 6, 2016 at the age of 63. Phil was surrounded by his supportive family as he joined loved ones who had gone before him. He will be greatly missed by Claudette, his wife and best friend of 40 years. He was a hero to his three daughters, Mellissa (Adam Pinder), Maria (Billy King), and Mirella (Jordan Allard). Special Nonno to his "Shmoogie", Emily Pinder. Cherished brother of Eugene (Angela), and the late Orlando (Laverne). Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Antonia. Son-in-law of Anna and the late Albert Thibodeau. Special uncle to Marla and Vanessa Guzzo. Beloved nephew of Anna and the late Giovanni Spina, as well as many Zias and Zios of Italy. Phil was a brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
Phil was a selfless man, always putting others before himself and lending a hand to those in need. He was a proud employee of Essar Steel for nearly 40 years, and was lovingly referred to as the 'donkey of the mill' because of his hard work ethic and positive attitude. He loved spending time outdoors working in his garden, and hunting and fishing with his cousins and friends. He loved to socialize, and was always cooking and sharing his 'food creations' for others to enjoy. Friends and Family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
We would like to thank the PSWs from We Care, and Bayshore nurses Marnie and Kim. A special thank you to Dr. Spadafora, and the staff of 2B and 2C at the Sault Area Hospital. We appreciate the support and care that you gave to Phil and our family over the years, and especially in his final days. www.northwoodfuneral.com
