It is with deep sadness the family of Gordon Howse announces his sudden passing at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Survived by his wife Patricia (Poupore), his nephew Jim Burden (Shelly) of Grapevine, Texas and his niece Janet Spriggs (Kevin) of Edmonton, Alberta. Brother of the late Marla Burden (Bill). Son of the late Gordon Ernest Howse and Evelyn Howse (MacDonald). Son-in-law of Joyce Poupore (late Archie). Brother-in-law of Joanne Laine (late Mark) and Nancy Chambers (late Gord) all of Thessalon. Gord worked for the Canadian Forestry Service for 35 years and will be remembered for his valuable contributions to forestry practices, especially methods of surveying and controlling insect populations. He will also be remembered for his passion for fishing, photography and airplanes. At the request of the family, there will be no memorial service and burial will be private. For those who wish to remember Gord, donations in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
