ROMANO, Salvatore (Biondo) - Born in Spadola, Italy, Sam passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Sault Area Hospital General Site in his 80th year. Son of the late Bruno Romano and Elisabetta Tassone. Uncle of Lisa DeGiorgio (Bruno). Special great uncle of Teresa DeGiorgio Ciconte (Gaetano) of Italy and Roselind DeGiorgio of Sault Ste. Marie. Great great uncle of Nico Ciconte of Italy. Brother of the late Francesco Romano (Angelina), late Bruno Romano (late Rosa), late Rocco Romano, late Patricia, Nicola Romano (Rosina) and predeceased by his younger sister and brother Concetta and Raffaele and his niece Lisa Minici. Sam will be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins. He was a member of the Ironworkers Local 786. Sam will always be remembered for his ingenuity, work ethic, patience and willingness to help anyone who asked. Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory's Church on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. www.northwoodfuneral.com
