MUNCASTER, Clarence Selwin - Peacefully and surrounded by his family at the F. J. Davey Home on Sunday, March 28, 2010 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Annie Irene Muncaster. Dear father of Bev Muncaster, Sandra Bayles (Tom), Fred Muncaster (Wanda), Philip Muncaster (Esther) and Debbie Kahtava (Randy). Grandfather and mentor of 14. Great grandfather of 20. Brother of late Victor (Audrey), late Walter (late Beatrice), late Laird (Gerry), late Wilbert (late Alva), late Ross (late Irene), late Allan (late Betty) and his sister-in-law the late Ruth Muncaster. Brother-in-law of Sherwood Shelswell (Joan) of Sudbury and the late Melvina Smith (late Bill), late Oakley Shelswell (late Irene), late Shelwin Shelswell, late Godfrey, late Charles (Hulda), late Vernon (late Winnie) and the late Elmer (late Emmy). In 1938, in Kirkland Lake, Clarence became the first private owner of Canadian Tire Corporation in Canada. In 1949 Clarence moved to Sault Ste. Marie where he opened Danz Muncaster Pontiac Buick Limited with his partner Tom Danz on Queen Street East in 1955. Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Thursday, April 1, 2010 from 12 noon until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. with Reverend Laurie Molito officiating. Spring interment at Goulais River Cemetery. Memorial donations to the F. J. Davey Home Walkway to Health or Canadian Cancer Society (Sault Ste. Marie) would be appreciated by the family.
